Counseling Is More Important Than Ever

Counseling is always something that can really help you. It helps you feel better mentally, which helps your whole self. Talking to a third party brings a new, unbiased perspective and can really help because they don’t pick sides. That’s what we are here to help with.

Counseling is even more helpful now than ever. Now that people are inside, constantly spending time with the people they are living with, stresses due to many factors can build up and having a therapy session can really help. During this time, symptoms might be hidden to loved ones and a therapist can really help alleviate that stress.

Currently, we are offering in-person, telephone, or video conferencing through our secure online portal.

If you have already seen a therapist at our clinic, please contact them directly. If you are a new client and would like to set up an initial appointment, please call 801.890.0737, leave a message, and we will contact you as soon as possible to find the best fit and format of service for you and your family.

So what can we help with? Here are a few areas:

Couples

Many factors can lead to dissatisfaction and disconnection in marriage. We want to help your couple relationships attain more effective communication, trust, and connection (whether that be emotionally, mentally, physically, or spiritually) through emotionally focused therapy and research-based couples therapy techniques. A secure base in marriage becomes a launching pad for other important areas of your life as well.

Teenagers/Young Adults

One teenage client summed it up so well: Teenagers are old enough to know that the world can really suck at times, but young enough to not have a clue as to what to do about it.

Like adults, teenagers can face a myriad of difficulties in life.  They can struggle with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, loss, and disappointment.  However, they may not even know how to talk about it with their parents, or those closest to them.  It is a truly vulnerable and monumentally important population.

We want to help your teenager or young adult face and even thrive, in their endeavors of making meaningful friendships, identifying their unique strengths, dealing with bullying, finding healthy beliefs about their ability to thrive in school, and pay attention to what is being asked of them at home, as well as in the community.

Life Transitions (grief, school, job loss, new parenthood)

Adjustments and transitions are the most common reasons people seek therapy.  Everyone goes through them and you don’t have to go through them alone. We want to help you find your life’s purpose and direction if you are facing a life transition, such as middle school, high school, college, marriage, parenthood, or even mourning.

Anxiety/Stress Reduction

Show me 100 people who struggle with anxiety and I will show you 100 of the nicest, most caring people in the world. Anxiety is one of the most common mental or emotional health conditions. Many athletes, such as Kevin Love, Michael Phelps, and others, have recently opened up about their experiences with anxiety. One of the goals is to eliminate the stigma of anxiety and to know that you are not alone in your suffering. Anxiety can be multi-faceted and we take various factors into account when working with individuals who are experiencing chronic or high levels of anxiety.
